Connected Locally. Connected Globally.
AZTESOL is Arizona’s professional community for English language teaching and multilingual education. We bring together pre-service teachers, educators from PreK–12 through higher education, administrators, graduate students, international language teachers, community partners, and advocates who share a commitment to multilingual learners across Arizona.
AZTESOL is a place to build professional expertise, connect with others in the field, share knowledge and ideas, and strengthen our collective voice for multilingual education.

Our Arizona Community
Arizona’s multilingual communities bring a rich diversity of languages, cultures, and experiences to our schools and communities. AZTESOL supports approaches that recognize multilingualism as an asset and the benefits of developing and sustaining more than one language.
Multilingualism is an asset.
From English language development and bilingual education to dual language programs and Arizona’s Seal of Biliteracy, we connect professionals across educational settings who are working to expand opportunities for multilingual learners.

Our Story
- 2013 AZTESOL was founded.
- 2016 Established first governing documents.
- Now, we are a statewide professional community.
Today, AZTESOL brings professionals and partners from across the state together through professional learning, collaboration, advocacy, and service.
Connected to a Global Community

AZTESOL is a proud affiliate of TESOL International Association, connecting Arizona’s professional community with English language teaching professionals around the world.
Our TESOL affiliation helps connect our work to the broader field and informs the research, issues, and professional learning topics we explore in Arizona. We bring that global perspective home by creating opportunities for Arizona educators to learn together and respond to the needs of multilingual learners in our state.
